We have been bringing sheet metal to life since 1998. We started from zero in a rented hall with a few colleagues. Supporting our people has always been our main priority, and they have helped us to build a group that gives work to more than 500 employees at three different plants in the Czech Republic. We can thank our colleagues for the success of Lakum and Massag.

Our stable teams or experienced professionals in all key positions are evidence for the fact that we pull together. The atmosphere of a family firm means that we retain experienced experts who can pass on their knowledge to younger people. As a result, we do not lose the highly prized know-how, and along with the customer’s team we can participate in the development and optimisation of components in our field.

  • Frýdlant nad Ostravicí, a small town about 30 km from Ostrava, became home to a new firm. The story of LAKUM-KTL, s.r.o. began.

  • By buying up a company that made metal furniture we expanded the business to include a new area and also preserved the tradition of metal working in Frýdlant.

  • LAKUM-KTL, s.r.o. grows and transforms into LAKUM-KTL, a. s.

  • We broaden our facilities for sheet metal processing by purchasing a new bending technology.

  • The metal stamping division becomes an independent organisational unit under the name LAKUM-AP, a. s.

  • As a part of company Lakum-KTL, a. s. we created an independent centre Sheet metal processing.

  • A new line for cataphoresis was taken into operation.

  • A final inspection in a hall with an area of 3.000 m2 was made.

  • Our business family expands to include another member - the firm GALMA, a. s. is acquired.

  • Our technological park for sheet metal processing is broaden by a purchase of another CNC brake press.

  • GALMA, a. s. proudly takes the group’s name to become LAKUM-GALMA, a. s.

  • A new mechanical pressing machine Bret with the power of 200 t was took into operation in the stamping shop.

  • We started a warehouse construction with an area of 1.800 m2.

  • Metal sheet processing shop puts a new helper into operation – a punch press FinnPower E5.

  • Stamping shop develops its possibilities by purchase of pressing machine Bret 400 t.

  • Sheet metal processing shop extends the capacity by another press Safan and as well starts with 3D printing.

  • The LAKUM family of firms expands through the acquisition of MASSAG, a. s.

  • At Sheet metal processing shop we now work on a new punch press PrimaPower C5.

  • We expand our possibilities by purchase of a new 3D printer.

Our services and technologies

Through a combination of all the divisions within the company Massag and Lakum we are capable of covering a broad process of metal component manufacture, whilst ensuring top-of-the-range surface finish and subsequent assembly, processing of tubes and wires with ensuring of manual and robotic welding. Cataphoresis (e-coating)

The most modern basic surface finish for metals, which combined with other methods ensures colourfast corrosion protection for your products. Cataphoresis is ecofriendly and friendly in terms of costs too.

Powder coating

Metal components finished by powder coating in combination with cataphoresis and/or galvanisation are protected from negative environmental influences and so become virtually immortal.

Zinc plating

Galvanisation (Zn/Fe or Zn/Ni) is a basic and final surface finish of metals increasing the quality of your components, it extends the life span and gives the final appearance and design of the components a special look.

Sheet metal processing

Sheet metal stamping is a technology for the flat shaping of metal. Due to a combination of our years of experience and know-how we are not afraid to take on the shaping of complicated components whilst offering an advantageous price calculation.

Metal stamping

Based on the drawings you supply we will punch out blanks from sheet metal, that we will then bend, weld, drill, rivet or give a surface finish according to your requirements.

Prototypes production

We will help you develop a prototype in the preparatory phase. Our best employees will work on the development and then manufacture of prototypes and will employ their lifetime of know-how in this.

3D Print

Additive layer manufacturing, called 3D printing for simplicity’s sake, helps us prepare precise prototypes. Thanks to this we avoid needless complications and extra costs when mass production starts.

Assembly

We can supply complete assemblages of products (manufactured either by us or you), as a result of which you save on logistics costs and get the assurance that a single supplier is maintaining the high quality of work performed.
