Zn electroplating/ZnNi electroplating - Galma, a.s.

linka ZinekZn electroplating  is an electrolytic process when, on the electrically conductive materials (in most cases steel parts - cathodes) a layer of zinc is deposited while the zinc anode simultaneously dissolves. This creates not only an anticorrosion layer but also architectural coating. Suitable materials for galvanizing are steel parts or casting or forgings. Quality of surface treatment is directly dependent on the quality of the input material. It is necessary that the parts are handed over to the galvanizing without coarse scales, excessive grease, paint or deep corrosion.

 

  

For galvanizing itself, modern alkaline zinc bath last generation with uniform zinc coating layer also on bulky products is used. Galvanizing bath has a very good buffer capacity and fluidity in deep profiles. Thank to mentioned technology we are able to apply up to 25 μ without negative impact. Galvanizing components can be, according to the customer or standad requirements, (for surface treatment) passivated blue or yellow passivation, or thick passivation without the presence of Cr6 (hexavalent chromium) with high corrosion resistance. A further increase of corrosion resistance is allowed by sealing, so-called sealing with a silicate paint. This technology has corrosion resistance up to 350 hours until white rust appears.

Electrolytically plated parts in Zn/Ni technology can be passivated transparent passivation and subsequently sealed by silicate paint. This technology has the corrosion resistance up to 720 hours until corrosion of the base material appears.

Significant improvements in the protection against corrosion of metal objects can be achieved by combining of galvanizing or Zn/Ni electroplating and subsequent cataphoretic coating, called duplex. Such surface treatment ensures superior corrosion resistant protection which reaches over 600 hours (technology Zn / Ni over 1000 hours) to the corrosion of basic material. To achieve even better corrosion resistance, we perform Triplex surface treatment (ZnNi) + KTL + powder coating. According to the type of powder, there is possible to achieve corrosion resistance of 2000-3000 hours. By applying powder mechanically highly resistant coatings are achieved.
